Teen Board Youth Volunteer

Applications for the Coastal Heritage Society Teen Board Youth Volunteer Program in Savannah are now open for applicants ages 13-18 for the 2026-2027 school year.

Coastal Heritage Society’s Teen Board Youth Volunteer Program operates September-May. Volunteering on the Coastal Heritage Society Teen Board helps fulfill high school community service requirements and your work will improve our community! 

Teen Board members will help support Coastal Heritage Society events, exhibits, and educational programs at all six of our Savannah museums and historic sites. This is your chance to connect with like-minded peers, develop professional skills, and play an active role in preserving our region’s rich heritage.

Program Highlights:

• Leadership development and teamwork opportunities
• Hands-on volunteer experiences at six Coastal Heritage Society sites and events
• Behind-the-scenes access to museum operations
• Community service hours
• Resume and college application enhancement

Coastal Heritage Society’s Teen Board requires a complete online application to be considered. Due to the limited volunteer positions available, Coastal Heritage Society may not be able to select all applicants. Current Coastal Heritage Society Teen Board volunteers will have priority over new applicants to continue into upcoming sessions.

Selected applicants will be required to complete a standard background check as part of the selection process.

Requirements: 

• Must be 13-17 years old (or 18 if still enrolled in high school) at the time of service.
• Must submit a complete application by end of day Aug. 31st 2026 and must commit to completing any necessary trainings and/or guardian meetings prior to service.

Time Commitment:

• Volunteering commitment is between September 2026 through May 2027.
• Volunteers pick their scheduled dates monthly.
